As a Haematology Practice Development Nurse with us, you'll play a pivotal role in developing, delivering and evaluating cancer and SACT education programmes, supporting the continuing professional development of nursing staff, and driving clinical education, competency and practice development across the network This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and develop your career.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate cancer and SACT education programmes, including formal study days and practice development packages.
  • Work collaboratively with oncology nurses and practice development nurses to support standardisation and shared competency assessment frameworks.
  • Act as a visible clinical role model, maximising opportunities for training and educational input across the cancer nursing workforce.
  • Identify training needs and support the development and assessment of clinical practice and competence.
  • Mentor and support new and existing staff through education and clinical skills-based training across a variety of locations.
  • Develop and review learning materials, guidelines and protocols to ensure they meet required learning outcomes.
  • Lead and support audit, service improvement and clinical governance activity to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Work clinically across the network, supporting education and development as approximately 40% of the role.

What You'll Have

  • Significant post-registration experience in the speciality, with strong clinical credibility.
  • Experience of teaching and presenting to staff, with a mentor/teaching qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and workload management skills, with the ability to produce structured and relevant reports.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of current issues affecting cancer services, including Clinical Governance.
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing and motivating people, with strong problem-solving and lateral-thinking skills.
  • RGN first level nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • ILS Certificate and UKONS SACT Passport.
  • Post-registration qualification in Specialty.
  • Knowledge of clinical audit, evidence-based practice and research; computer literate.
  • Masters level study is desirable.
