Overview

This role focuses on clinical pharmacy support for oncology/haematology patients, medicines management, and contributing to safe, effective patient care.
Main duties of the job
As an Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist, you will
- Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines management service to oncology patients in line with Genesis Care policies.
- Offer expert, highly specialised pharmaceutical advice in oncology.
- Be involved in the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines.
- Provide clinical checking of chemotherapy and final release to nursing staff.

- What You'll Have / Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in oncology and/or haematology
- Experience in a hospital environment
- Dispensing medicines and medicine management in a hospital setting
- Screening and checking systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions
- Electronic prescribing
- Experience of clinical audit and/or practice research
- Experience in development, promotion, implementation and monitoring of protocols
- Counselling and strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accurate recording of data, including patient drug history
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Able to plan and organise straightforward tasks and programmes; effective stock control
- Clear communication with diverse stakeholders across the hospital
- Understanding of protocols and regimens development
- Registered with GPHC
- BSc Pharmacist or Master of Pharmacy
- One year's pre-registration training
- Further postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (e. g., Clinical Diploma)
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Member of BOPA (Desirable)
- Independent Prescriber (Desirable)
