The Role: As an Exercise Oncology Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in being responsible for providing the day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of the Exercise Medicine Service. You will be working under the supervision of the Physiotherapist (Exercise Clinic Lead (ECL)), to provide guidance and support to people with a prescribed exercise programme as part of their cancer treatment. Hours: Part time, permanent (20 hours over 3 days per week)

What You'll Do:

  • Create and deliver bespoke exercise session plans in the exercise clinic.
  • Deliver a safe, high-quality experience to all patients, in clinic and virtually with consideration to any limitations of their diagnosis.
  • Co-ordinate the clinic’s patient schedule.
  • Complete patient discharges ensuring plans in place for ongoing exercise, providing recommendations as necessary and update patient records accordingly.
  • Maintain clinic to specified standards as set out in the company policies to ensure clean and safe for patient use and update records accordingly.
  • Work closely with team members, Penny Brohn consultants and other internal and external contacts to deliver a high-level all-round patient experience in line with the company values.
  • Support and develop initiatives to improve the Exercise Medicine service and the wider GenesisCare UK service attending key forums as appropriate.
  • Continued professional development, education and company mandatory training.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Essential Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Oncology and long-term conditions.
  • Desirable GP referral qualification / Specialist population instructor qualifications as appropriate.
  • Registered with a professional body eg. CIMSPA plus requirement to maintain ongoing registration.
  • Motivational and behavioural interviewing qualification/experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft, Excel and databases.
