Overview
Senior Regional MR-Linac Therapy Radiographer covering state-of-the-art cancer care centres in London (The Cromwell, Kensington), Surrey & Oxford. Regional role with travel to centres across the network; involvement in MR-Linac based radiotherapy, treatment delivery, and training for complex treatments such as adaptive SABR.
Please note that this is a regional role, and daily travel to centres across the network will be required in line with business needs.
Responsibilities
- Rotate across all radiotherapy treatment units across your region or occasionally across the UK network.
- Support the MR-Linac based service, assisting the Principal Radiographers to provide training and on-site support for SABR and adaptive treatments.
- Liaise closely with Radiotherapy Radiography team/Lead Physicist and Senior Dosimetrist on site; collaborate with Diagnostic Radiographer/Senior Nurse teams as appropriate.
- Follow all HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics and standards of proficiency.
- Follow clinical protocols, policies and procedures; operate in compliance with radiation regulations and quality assurance, ensuring safe practices and mentoring more junior radiographers.
- Ensure patients receive high-quality service in line with GenesisCare treatment standards; maintain accurate treatment records in accordance with GenesisCare processes.
- Participate in clinical audits and contribute to incident/complaint investigations with appropriate safeguards.
- Maintain awareness of relationships with external partners/service providers and comply with their policies as required.
- Work with colleagues to support ongoing improvement and development of care and services; promote GenesisCare success.
- Adhere to HCPC standards; proactively maintain CPD in line with GenesisCare and HCPC standards.
- Occasionally work out of hours to resolve breakdowns or crises with minimal service impact.
- Adhere to company standards of appearance, behavior and demeanor.
- Carry out other duties appropriate for a post of this nature.
What You\’ll Have
Experience and skills
- Post-qualification radiography experience.
- Understanding of UK radiotherapy techniques and legislation.
- Experience across quality assurance, pre-treatment and treatment phases; MR-Linac and/or adaptive SABR experience is advantageous.
- Evidence of effective staff liaison, cooperative working, empathetic patient care, and strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in private health sector is advantageous; capable of resolving complaints satisfactorily.
- Ability to evolve radiotherapy techniques and adapt to flexible roles; strong problem-solving and independent judgment abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet GenesisCare objectives.
Qualifications And Knowledge
- DCR(T) or BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Other Requirements For This Role
- Work cooperatively within a team; exchange information and assist other team members to achieve objectives.
- Travel to centres in your region, and other centres as required; full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
