Join our team as a Mammographer (Part-time, Oxford) at GenesisCare UK. This role is available on a permanent, part-time basis of 30 hours per week at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Oxford.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients by confirming identification, reviewing imaging requests, checking for special instructions, and confirming anticipated service with patients.
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; provide explanations of imaging procedures and equipment; answer questions.
- Conduct mammography studies by positioning breasts, adjusting compression mechanisms, instructing the patient to hold breath, operating the equipment to take images, releasing compression, and preparing for subsequent positions and views.
- Minimise radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
- Maintain production and quality of mammograms by following established standards; develop mammograms; observe results; determine necessary adjustments; retake as required; forward completed studies to radiologist for interpretation.
- Ensure operation and maintenance of mammography equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs; maintain equipment inventories.
- Manage mammography supplies and patient drapes by inventorying stock, placing orders, and handling related tasks.
- Document patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying informed through professional materials and networks.
What You'll Have
- Able to demonstrate post-qualification experience.
- Experience in/understanding UK diagnostic radiography.
- Desirable: varied experience within radiography; general/CT/MRI/US.
- Evidence of effective staff liaison and cooperative working.
- Empathetic and holistic approach to patient care.
- Experience in private health sector.
- Experience with resolving complaints satisfactorily.
- Some knowledge of report writing.

Qualifications And Knowledge
