The Role
As a Medical Secretary with us, you will play a pivotal role in providing a comprehensive secretarial service to one or more consultants, dealing with enquiries, correspondence and preparing letter correspondence following dictations. What You’ll Do
- Ensuring complete medical records are received in time for consultations for all patients.
- Providing accurate diary management to ensure smooth running for all clinics.
- Act as the main point of contact for consultants managing enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Act as first contact for all patients and provide them with all the relevant requirements for their consultations.
- Ensure referral letters are received and processed quickly to ensure that patients' pathways are not delayed.
What You’ll Have
Experience and skills:
- Significant experience of working as a secretary and/or in a clerical environment.
- Experience of managing diaries and schedules.
- Experience of referral triaging and booking processes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Ability to work to tight and conflicting deadlines.
Qualifications And Knowledge
- RSA audio typing and typing or equivalent keyboard skills.
- Medical terminology.
- Able to demonstrate experience of working with Microsoft Office and databases.
