As the Lead Pharmacist – Oncology / Haematology with us, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading and delivering all pharmacy clinical services within the centre for patients receiving oncology and haematology treatments. You will provide expert pharmaceutical advice at a highly specialist level, oversee safe systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT) services, and ensure consistent, high‑quality medicines management in line with GenesisCare policies and regulatory standards.

Alongside clinical leadership, you will manage and develop the centre pharmacy team, working closely with consultants, nurses and operational leaders to ensure seamless, safe and efficient service delivery. What You’ll Do
  • Lead the daily running of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring a safe, effective and patient‑centred medicines management service.
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy support to oncology and haematology patients.
  • Clinically screen, check and validate SACT prescriptions (including use of electronic prescribing systems such as iQEMO).
  • Oversee procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of oncology medicines in line with GenesisCare procedures.
  • Provide final clinical checking and release of chemotherapy to nursing teams.
  • Line manage and develop the centre pharmacy team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of oncology treatment protocols.
  • Participate in medicines management meetings and clinical governance processes.
  • Support investigation and management of medication‑related incidents and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Liaise closely with consultants, nursing teams, finance and operational colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
What You’ll Have
  • Registered with the GPhC.
  • MPharm or BSc Pharm qualification.
  • Completed pre‑registration training.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (e.g. Clinical Diploma).
  • Strong experience in hospital pharmacy and medicines management.
  • Experience screening and checking SACT prescriptions.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a pharmacy team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence communicating complex pharmaceutical information to clinicians and patients.
Desirable
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
  • Member of BOPA.
  • Independent Prescriber qualification.
