We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at our Radiation Oncology centre in Wembley on a casual basis, working various shifts as required. You will be part of a small team of nurses who deliver best practice Radiation Oncology nursing services. Along with the multidisciplinary team, you will be part of giving our patients an exceptional treatment experience.
We are an outpatient clinic and as such are open Monday to Friday. Nurses can say goodbye to shift-work! We are looking for a nurse who has a background in oncology nursing although that is not essential as we have a friendly knowledgeable team who can train you. The main thing that we are looking for is someone who is motivated to learn, flexible and reliable. You need to have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate empathy for our patients and their carers.
More specifically, you will:- Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient’s physical and psychological needs are met.
- Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
- Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
- Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and provide feedback and up to date information regarding patients.
- Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
- Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
- Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
- Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.
- Have a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Have a minimum 2 years post graduate experience (preferred).
- Hold a background in oncology nursing, but not essential. Training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided.
- Possess exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
- Have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Show commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
- Are experienced in wound care management.
- Show commitment to quality patient care.
