We are seeking a Breast Care Nurse to join our Tugun and Southport clinics on a part-time basis (3 days per fortnight) for a 12-month contract. You will provide individualised and coordinated care for patients. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, this role will ensure that treatment and care is planned and delivered in partnership with patients and families.

The Breast Care Nurse also plays a key part in delivering expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals whilst also facilitating care management plans for patients who are referred to GenesisCare and who are discharged back to their health service provider.

What you'll do:
  • Responsible for coordination and delivery of our Breast Cancer Survivorship clinics across Tugun and Southport.
  • Coordinate care in consultation with the multidisciplinary team and patients and their carers.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessment to develop, facilitate and evaluate the care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
  • Provide nursing leadership through the delivery of excellent care to patients.
  • Demonstrate development of clinical processes with clinical and operational teams and development of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including referrers.
More specifically, you will:
  • Be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Have experience and expertise in oncology nursing and or Breast Care Nursing.
  • Have or working towards a postgraduate qualification in Oncology Nursing, Breast Care qualification, Advanced Nursing or similar.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Possess commitment to the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate experience working effectively in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to build strong working relationships with external key stakeholders.
