The Port Operation Supervisor (POS) is part of the Site Transport and Logistics Team, managing the port operations and haulage of any kind of cargo, from General Cargo up to Super heavy lift & oversized equipment (SHLO). The POS reports to the Site T&L Manager. His/her key operational function is to execute the daily in-country port management and coordination.
Job Accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Manages the overall port operations in the UK (post-carriage of international shipments, in-country shipments, in-Site shipments including abnormal loads with SPMTs)
- Prepare the regular Transport Forecast.
- Interface between all port stakeholders, hauliers and T&L team.
- Establishes with Construction team the berthing priorities and transmit the same to Port Operator.
- Manage the integration of the vessels inside the berthing planning at RBT (Redcar Bulk Terminal).
- In charge of the preparation of loading activities with Port Operator, Stevedores and Last-Mile Haulier (pre-operation meeting, validation of method statements).
- Monitors the execution of the shipments by the Freight-Forwarder and/or Hauliers.
- Supervise the port operation at Material Offloading Facility (MOF) located at Site and at the local Public Port.
- Supervises the loading activities, within the HSE parameters defined and other applicable rules and directives and reports the periodic activity.
- Ensures the access to berth to any stakeholder (Client, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, MWS, Customs…)
- Coordinate the deliveries after clearance.
- Contributes to the improvement of the Transport and Customs Processes and Communication Matrix.
- Significant experience with OOG/SHLO equipment is essential, as these specialized loads constitute a major portion of the project’s deliveries.

- Externally: Customs Authorities, Freight Forwarder, Customs Broker, Teesworks Authority, Terminal Operators, Stevedoring Company, Hauliers
Profile:
- Extensive experience in general / abnormal load transport and port operations.
- Deep knowledge of port operations, Planning and Abnormal Loads UK regulations.
- Skills and familiarity in Incoterms, Transport and Logistics, stevedoring, port operations.
- Experience in fields and knowledge of the Oil & Gas / Energy industry preferable.
- Communication skills in English.
