We are currently seeking a Junior Structural Engineer / EasyStructure Operator to support the structural engineering team on the Net Zero Teesside Power project. This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or early-career engineer with an interest in structural analysis and design within large-scale energy projects. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in EasyStructure, Technip Energies’ internal structural analysis and design software, and will work under the close supervision of senior and lead structural engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures associated with power generation and CCS facilities.
- Assist in the development and checking of structural calculation models using EasyStructure (training provided).
- Prepare and maintain engineering calculations, reports, and design documentation in accordance with project and company standards.
- Support the production and review of technical deliverables such as design notes, calculation packages, and interface data.
- Work closely with discipline engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders to ensure coordinated delivery.
- Assist with design optimisations, sensitivity studies, and compliance checks.
- Participate in internal reviews, learning sessions, and technical meetings.
- Ensure work is delivered in line with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety standards.
Training & Development
- Structured training on EasyStructure, including modelling, analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Mentorship from experienced structural engineers within Technip Energies.
- Exposure to large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including decarbonisation and CCS.
- Opportunity to develop toward an independent structural engineer role over time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of structural engineering fundamentals (steel and/or concrete).
- Interest in structural analysis software and numerical modelling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Desirable: Some experience in a structural engineering or EPC environment.
- Exposure to structural software (e.g. STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, Robot, etc.).
- Knowledge of UK or international design codes (Eurocodes preferred).
- Interest in energy, power, or industrial projects.
