What we are looking for
We are looking for a Principal Process Engineer with Dynamic Process Simulation expertise to provide practical solutions to our clients’ challenges, including the requirement to decarbonise oil and gas production. You will work on a variety of projects, involved in compressor surge analysis, holistic simulation, control optimisation & validation, process safety time analysis, liquid surge (water-hammer) assessment, HIPPS response times, heat exchanger tube rupture and many more unique issues that are faced by our client. Working under the mentorship of our dynamic process simulation Subject Matter Expert, you will lead several dynamic simulation projects. You will be responsible for supervising and guiding several junior engineers, checking their results and reporting to the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as part of the dynamic process simulation team, delivering work under the supervision of one of our lead engineers.
- Responsible for defined parts of dynamic simulation studies.
- Large variety of work, including assessment of compressor anti-surge control, process control systems liquid surge, HIPPS response, heat exchanger tube rupture using a variety of dynamic process simulation tools.
- Present work to clients, virtually and face-to-face, through reports and presentations.
- Preparing technical notes, reports and client presentations.
- Responsible for the delivery of high-quality deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards and internal procedures.
- Understand client’s requirements and contribute to winning bids for work.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience
- Engineering degree, honours or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Working towards a Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers or equivalent.
- Extensive experience using Hysys Dynamics and/or Unisim Dynamics as well as PipeNet and/or Wanda or similar liquid surge (waterhammer) programs.
- gProms or Aspen Custom Modeler experience would be useful as would software coding with VB.Net/VBA.
- Team player, adaptable to working in new and changing environments.
- Great organizational skills with good attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Related experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and/or Low Carbon Energy Transition projects would be useful.
- Understanding of relevant industry codes and standards.
