As an experienced Quality Technician, you will join a professional, dynamic team to support the delivery of business objectives through the development and implementation of excellent quality practices in our client’s engine development facility, responsible for the design and development of diesel engines for both our client’s and OEM applications.
As a quality technician, you will be working as part of a fast paced and integrated team, primarily supporting and continuously improving the quality systems of the engine development lab with your main focus being the delivery and maintenance of ISO17025, carrying out internal and hosting external audits, and any issue rectification.
You will also support internal and external operator training and continuous improvement activities:
- Ensure all processes required to meet the higher levels required by the regulatory bodies are fulfilled.
- Ensure all servicing and calibration of equipment and instrumentation is done to the required standards (ISO/IEC 17025 & regulatory type approval) and within the planned time periods.
- Ensure all documentation is created and maintained for the above.
- Ensure any new equipment and instrumentation meets the above with any documentation updated.
- Conduct internal audits and support in the management of third-party suppliers.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems, 8D process is considered essential. The ideal candidate will be trained to Internal Auditor level.
- Able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of engine development lab, instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Diesel engine operation, preferably in an off-highway environment would be a significant advantage.
- Professional and flexible individual, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience relevant to the role, preferably in an automotive powertrain or off highway engine environment.
- You will be technology savvy, able to pick up new skills quickly.
- You will be an excellent team worker with a passion for the product and the tenacity needed to see things through.
- You will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.
