Highly organised, proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to work as an Electrical Design Engineer. You will report to the Principal engineer and will be a key member of the team responsible for concept, prototype and series design of the electrical systems for our client’s projects. This exciting and rewarding role is ideally suited to someone who is looking to be a pivotal member of a friendly, small and dynamic team by making their designs reality.

The primary focus of the role will be relating to the electrical system design and development of a 50-75hp electric and hybrid tractor. You should be able to manage all aspects of the electrical system on an agricultural tractor, and as the founding member of the electrical design team, should be motivated and a self-starter. You should bring industry experience and best practices to your work.

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • LV and HV circuit design for whole tractor and bespoke systems.
  • 2D Schematic drawings.
  • 2D Harness drawings.
  • Supporting 3D CAD routing of harnesses.
  • Specification of electrical components.
  • Integration of existing electrical and electronic components (ECU’s, switches, sensors, lighting etc.).
  • Managing suppliers to support prototype harness manufacture.
  • Harness routing and prototype build support.
  • Hands-on commissioning and fault finding of electrical systems.
  • Ensuring relevant cost, timing, and quality requirements are met.
  • Designing to meet relevant worldwide standards.
  • Collating BOMs.
  • Comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

Requirements:

  • Electrical design software (such as Zuken/CATIA).
  • AutoCAD software.
  • Off Highway/Agricultural vehicle experience.
  • HV and LV electrical architecture.
  • New Product Introduction, Supplier and Engineering Sign off including DVP.
  • Whole vehicle design integration.
  • Willingness to own the role and develop this important area of the UK business.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with various stakeholders worldwide.
  • Willingness for occasional travel within Europe and to India.

Benefits:

37 hour week around core hours with flexibility to start and finish at different times. You will benefit from company benefits including sick pay, pension, 25 days holiday.
