Artworker Retoucher β Branding and Packaging Reprographics
I am hiring an Artworker Retoucher for a leading branding and packaging agency. You will take master creative and turn it into print ready packaging that is colour accurate, technically sound, and consistent across ranges and formats. If you love the craft of artwork and the science of repro, this is for you.
What you will do
- Build and adapt packaging artworks from master design through to print ready files across flexo, litho, gravure and digital
- Carry out high quality retouching on pack shots and lifestyle imagery including cut outs, clean up, compositing and shadow work
- Manage colour across CMYK, spot and brand palettes with accurate matching to guides and standards
- Set dielines, check trapping and overprint, apply barcodes and legal copy, and prepare PDFs that pass preflight every time
- Create versioned ranges, extensions and multilingual layouts while keeping grids, typography and assets consistent
- Liaise with account managers, designers and printers to resolve queries, attend colour passes when required and keep projects moving
- Own file naming, layer structure, asset management and documentation so others can pick up work without friction
What you will bring
- Solid experience in packaging artwork and retouching within an agency, repro house or print environment
- Deep working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Practical understanding of reprographics including trapping, overprint, separations, step and repeat and imposition
- Confidence with colour management, ICC profiles and proofing workflows. GMG or similar experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Esko tools such as DeskPack, ArtPro or Automation Engine is very helpful
- A precise eye for detail, strong file hygiene and the ability to work calmly to deadlines on multiple projects
Nice to have
- Experience across FMCG, retail or cosmetics ranges
- Understanding of packaging regulations, pack copy and multilingual artwork builds
- Comfort presenting work and explaining technical decisions to non technical stakeholders
