Due to expansion of the team, the Environment and Sustainability Team currently has a vacancy for a Sustainability Study Manager; a role which combines the delivery of sustainability studies and advisory services to our clients along with line management responsibilities. The role requires knowledge and experience of sustainability management topics including development of sustainability strategies and application of ESG frameworks. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing workload and resourcing in relation to a team of environmental and sustainability professionals whilst continuing to work on projects to further their own technical development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to determine their requirements.
  • Proposal input and preparation; and identification of new markets and service offerings related to sustainability advisory services.
  • Leading and managing projects related to sustainability and ESG from inception to completion, acting as the main contact on technical and commercial matters, and overseeing resources and budgets.
  • Conducting Sustainability Assessments: Evaluate an organisation’s current practices, policies, and impacts to identify areas for improvement.
  • Developing Sustainability Strategies: Create tailored action plans that align with the organisation’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Advising on Sustainable Practices: Provide guidance on sustainable technologies, practices, and compliance with environmental legislation to enhance overall performance.
  • Liaison with Environmental & Sustainability Delivery Manager and other Environmental Study Managers to coordinate allocation of appropriate personnel across a range of projects.
  • Providing leadership and line reporting to a team of environmental and sustainability consultants, engineers and scientists.
  • Development and retention of talent within their team; motivating team members to meet personal and business targets.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Have a degree in a relevant subject.
  • Have knowledge of relevant frameworks, legislation and standards.
  • Have project management experience on small to medium projects.
  • Have experience in client relationship building.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Be well‑motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Have excellent written skills with attention to detail.
