Project Background

The Net Zero Teesside (NZT) and Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) projects represent one of the UK's most significant decarbonisation initiatives, delivering large‑scale carbon capture, transportation, and storage infrastructure. Successful delivery requires strong alignment and engagement across bp, multiple contractors, and a diverse site workforce. Effective management of 3rd party interfaces and agreements is essential for ensuring NEP offshore infrastructure can be safely and efficiently installed across a heavily utilised seabed shared with existing operators and infrastructure. Genesis Energies is supporting the NEP project with BP at our offices in London. This is a contract position within the Genesis team that will last 6 months, with the potential for a further 6 month extension.

Role Purpose

The Offshore Stakeholder Lead will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management and delivery of all Crossing and Proximity Agreements required for installation of NEP's offshore infrastructure. Acting as a representative of the IJV, this role will build and maintain collaborative relationships with 3rd party operators, lead the execution of agreements in coordination with Commercial and Legal teams, and ensure all associated obligations are tracked and fulfilled in support of the NEP schedule. The role requires a proactive, structured approach to planning, stakeholder engagement, and issue resolution across multiple disciplines and contractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agreement Identification, Planning & Scheduling: Identify when agreements are required based on the evolving scope definition. Develop and maintain a delivery plan for each agreement, ensuring timely completion in line with the NEP offshore vessel campaigns. Provide effective input into readiness reviews for vessel campaigns, ensuring the timing of 3rd party requirements are communicated and understood. Where scope definition is not yet available, work with construction teams to identify work‑arounds and define boundaries to enable delivery within the available timeline. Escalate promptly when required inputs are not available, clearly identifying impacts and risks to scope. Draft agreements based on scope definition and inputs from Commercial and Legal teams. Lead the completion and execution of Crossing and Proximity Agreements with 3rd party operators required for NEP infrastructure. Performance‑manage the submission of required inputs to these agreements from bp and contractor teams. As a representative of the IJV, maintain effective and collaborative relationships with all 3rd party operators through clear, systematic, and regular communication.
  • Obligation Tracking, Systems & Governance: Maintain existing (or develop new) tools, systems, and processes to ensure systematic tracking of all agreements, obligations, and required 3rd party activities. Proactively plan ahead and work with all disciplines to ensure that obligations (document reviews, notifications, data provisions, etc.) within NEP Agreements are fulfilled in a timely manner. Identify and lead resolution of issues early, escalating where required.
  • Offshore Operations Support: Support offshore teams with any emergent issues relating to 3rd party operators during offshore operations. Provide responsive and practical support to resolve interface issues as they arise in the field.
  • Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned: Ensure lessons learned relating to stakeholder management and 3rd party operators in 2026 are identified, captured, and embedded in processes for future campaigns. Drive improvements to agreement management processes and stakeholder engagement practices based on project experience.

Skills and Behaviours

  • A driven, proactive individual who is highly systematic and organised, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) with a collaborative working style and experience engaging diverse stakeholders in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
  • Experience in contract, agreement, or interface management, ideally within energy, pipeline, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Familiarity with crossing and proximity agreement processes or coordinating across multi‑disciplinary and multi‑contractor teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across bp, contractor, and 3rd party organisations.
  • Proactive and structured approach to planning, with the resilience to work through ambiguity where scope definition is incomplete.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and inclusive team culture.
