Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to take a leadership position in the UK consulting organization with a particular focus on growing the Advisory Solutions (AS) business in the UK, as part of the wider Environmental & Advisory Solutions (EAS) Practice. The primary purpose of the role is to grow the EMEA strategic advisory business volume and the team.

The client focus for the UK Advisory Solutions practice will be:

  • Financial and investment clients (private equity, funds, insurance, M&A departments, etc.)
  • Traditional energy clients
  • Current Environmental business clients

The aim will be to sell strategic advisory and investment advisory work (due diligence, strategic assessments, market intelligence, technology comparisons, etc.) to those clients.

The purpose of the job spans multiple facets:

  • Business Development: Ensuring quality execution, streamline offering

Job scope:

  • Advisory Solutions Business Development: Build client relationships, win strategic work, manage backlog, maximize revenue
  • AS UK Marketing: Plan and execute UK AS marketing in collaboration with Marketing team
  • AS UK Account Planning: Develop and execute on AS UK Account Planning. Adjust and realign planning as required to meet P&L objectives.
  • AS UK Pipeline/ Opportunity Management: Take ownership and drive execution of pipeline and opportunity management for AS UK. Includes active engagement with clients to drive opportunity identification and conversion.
  • AS UK Tendering Oversight: Lead / oversee AS UK tendering efforts, aiming to optimize balance between Order Intake and Tendering Efficiency.
  • EAS UK Growth: Collaborate with the UK Environmental Services DM to maintain UK as the growth engine for the global EAS business at Genesis - via tactics such as obtaining joint pricing / market intelligence, co-creating and maturing joint offerings, cross selling services, sharing best practice with other centres etc.

Ensuring quality execution: Ensure quality, manage client stakeholders

  • Project Sponsorship: Act as project sponsor on various client engagements to be a point of reference/ guidance for the team on subject matter at hand, a point of escalation for the client stakeholders and an agent of BD for the organization – driving identification and conversion of new BD opportunities.
  • Project Delivery: Act as a senior project member on various client engagements, gathering EAS project execution experience and guiding the project team in project execution.

People Development: Train, develop and mentor more junior resources during BD or project execution efforts. Provide continuous feedback. Identify and address skills gaps in the consulting organization. Work with P&C to develop training programs including the Strategy Bootcamp and other core consulting skills courses. Act as a key sponsor for AI and Digital initiatives for Genesis.

Advisory Solutions Offering

  • New: Work with Head of Markets to identify new markets and trends, support the EAS Head of Practice in developing tailored strategic offerings, and work with other Customer-facing teams to market-test opportunities.
  • Existing: Work with Customer-facing teams to ensure our existing offerings remain tailored and market leading.

Typical background and experience required:

  • Manager or Senior Manager coming from an advisory setting
  • Techno‑Economic Due Diligence, financial or strategic advisory
  • Led office or dedicated offering with P&L or Revenue targets to achieve
  • Team management of 10+ people
  • Strong experience in energy or related industry
  • Office or Business Unit leadership experience
  • P&L responsibility experience
  • Advisory experience in a Consulting setting
  • Techno‑Economic background (meaning has Technical plus MBA / Economics / Commercial experience)

Advantageous Experience:

  • Strategy Consulting or Investment Banking
  • MBA
