What we are looking for
An opportunity is available for a Consultant Civil Engineer to join the Genesis UK Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team to support the multi-discipline delivery of major energy development studies (typically at conceptual / pre-FEED and FEED project stages). These projects include:
- Major Carbon Capture Transportation and Storage
- Electrification of New and Existing Facilities
- New Development / Modification Studies to Oil and Gas assets
- Gigawatt Scale Green Hydrogen

Key responsibilities
The role will focus on the provision of onshore Civil and Geotechnical Engineering project lifecycle knowledge and consulting that will include:
- Contribute to (typically) front-end multi-discipline engineering studies, providing onshore civil and geotechnical engineering expertise for greenfield and brownfield projects, including:
- Site preparation, earthworks, cut and fill calculation, flood assessment
- Layout – Foundations and earthworks, temporary enabling works, permanent concrete and steel structures
- Geotechnical – Specification of onshore site investigation, interpretation of soil data, foundation design (shallow and piled), and temporary works
- Drainage design
- Brownfield tie-ins with existing infrastructure
- Vessel and equipment transport and installation
Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- Recognised degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Previous experience working as an onshore Civil / Geotechnical Engineer – Technical and applied knowledge of onshore civil engineering principles and practices
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards professional registration)
- Offshore geotechnical knowledge an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and full command of English language (written & spoken)
- Good broad computer literacy with competence in MS office applications
- Self-motivation and ability to work to deadlines
- A desire to develop new skills and experience
- Conceptual / pre-FEED study experience is an advantage
- Experience of new energies / energy transition project development is an advantage
