The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
To co-ordinate and provide cost-effective quality civil engineering and infrastructure solutions for all aspects of residential development. Liaison with internal teams, external consultants and local authorities to ensure technical delivery is efficient and meets the needs of the business plan – from land acquisition through to adoption and handover.
Key Accountabilities
- Pre-development / Land Acquisition
- Provide engineering input into land appraisals and feasibility studies.
- Review technical constraints including ground conditions, flood risk, highways, drainage and utility availability.
- Advise on potential abnormal costs and engineering risks.
- Produce robust Engineers instructions / Consultant briefs to drive a “right first time” approach.
- Manage external civil engineering consultants in the design of adoptable infrastructure, foundations, levels and external works.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations and standards (Warranty providers, Building Regulations, Section 278 / 38 / 104 agreements, SuDS etc).
- Oversee coordination of engineering drawings with architectural and planning layouts.
- Review, improve and approve drawings for technical accuracy, value engineering opportunities, and buildability.
- Prepare accurate information and drawings to form part of Tender Pack for each development.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Construction teams to ensure efficient delivery of on-site and off-site site infrastructure works.
- Liaise with local authorities, water companies / NAVs, highway agencies and utility providers to obtain necessary technical approvals, permits and agreements.
- Monitor progress and resolve technical issues during construction. Regular site visits and progress reviews.
- Manage technical aspects of adoptions (roads, sewers, open spaces) through to completion and handover, ensuring all relevant CCTV, as-built surveys & drawings, reports are provided and recorded to ensure efficient adoption.
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the engineering / technical team.
- Assist with budgets for engineering design and infrastructure delivery.
- Monitor consultant performance and ensure adherence to programme, cost and quality standards.
- Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining balance with quality and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience
- Construction educated in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in residential development, consulting engineering or housebuilding.
- Preferable working knowledge of the house building industry.
- Experience of multi-site management of infrastructure design and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (section 278 / 38 / 104, SuDS, Building Regulations, Warranty Technical Manuals, CDM etc).
- Proficient in AutoCad and civil engineering design principles.
- Excellent project management, communication and negotiation skills.
