Senior Client Account Manager

Overview

My client is one of Coventry\’s longest-established accountancy firms, serving over 600 clients across the UK and internationally. We work with everyone from local traders to global subsidiaries, combining traditional integrity with modern systems and high standards.

What you\’ll be doing

• Manage your pod and oversee delivery of accounts and tax work
• Be the day-to-day contact for your portfolio (200+ clients)
• Review and sign off accounts, tax returns, VAT, and management accounts
• Act as account manager for key clients in your pod
• Train and develop your team, setting internal deadlines and quality standards
• Spot tax opportunities and flag to our Head of Tax
• Handle client queries, reviews, and occasional HMRC enquiries
• Help shape the future: explore outsourcing, tech, and build your own team

What we\’re looking for

• 0+ years in practice, ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading teams
• Strong tax and accounts knowledge (Xero, Dext, TaxCalc preferred)
• Exceptional communicator with fluent spoken and written English — able to build trust with clients and train your team clearly
• Able to review, advise, and present technical matters in plain language
• Self-motivated, organised, and analytical — able to spot opportunities and solve problems

This is a 100% accounts and tax role — no audit. Based in our Coventry office (on-site, full-time).

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. Can be flexible.
