An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and passionate Maintenance Supervisor to join our Generator team. Your key role will be to maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building deteriorated by users wear and tear influenced by weathering elements.

Generator London is a short stroll from Covent Garden, Regents Park and the British Museum. When crafting this hostel we redesigned this old police station to reflect the city’s street life. Local reclaimed timber, exposed brickwork and hot-rolled black steel give the hostel an industrial feel.
NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB:
- In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, co-ordinate all maintenance tasks, supervise, delegate, and prioritise duties to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with contractors on work to be carried out under contract agreements.
- Ensure that contractors are aware of their responsibilities while on the premises and are informed of health and safety requirements.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety.
- Be responsible for the day to day Health and Safety issues within the property.
- Satisfy the relevant educational requirements needed in order to effectively carry out your health and safety duties.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them.
- Ensure that the works carried out are to the standards required.
- Keep managers informed of any major defects in the building, plan or equipment which could affect the successful running of the property.
- Be prepared to work out-of-hours in order to maintain the generator assets in full working order.
- Perform Duty Manager shift when required.

- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
