Process Automation Lead

Contract: 12-month rolling contract

Rate: Up to 85 EUR an hour (Outside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DeltaV Lead to take charge of the automation element of a high-profile project for a new production line in a cutting-edge facility. This is an opportunity to work on a long-term engagement, supporting a state-of-the-art site with DeltaV v15, PLCs, MES, and PI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the automation scope of the project, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and act as the primary client-side expert on DeltaV systems.
• Work closely with the project lead to represent the company professionally and effectively.
• Define and implement an automation framework, steering the site in the right direction.
• Assess the DCS and determine necessary improvements.
• Engage with and manage vendors, particularly Emerson, ensuring smooth collaboration.
• Support and coordinate with Project, E&I, and CSV leads.
• Ensure compliance with S88 batch process control standards.
• Work on a brand-new production line within a new building, managing various phases including recipe management and system integration.

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience in DeltaV DCS.
• Proven ability to lead automation projects in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with DCS assessments and implementation.
• Strong technical expertise with the ability to communicate effectively with both stakeholders and vendors.
• Experience managing vendor interactions.
• Familiarity with PLCs, MES, and PI.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with managing small teams or projects is advantageous.
