Generative Engineering is bringing AI design into the real world by enabling generative engineering design for physical products. Our focus is creating millions more engineers globally and giving them the data and knowledge necessary to make efficient decisions quickly, one of the main challenges of the physical engineering industry today. Our team has a background in scaling software to millions of users and successfully disrupting industries, creating Unicorn's and Decacorn's along the way. We combine the advantages of an early-stage start-up with the ability to focus on creating high-quality, high-impact systems, without the distraction of fundraising.
We're looking for someone to own People & Business Operations end-to-end as we scale. You'll own the full employee lifecycle from hiring through onboarding and beyond, keep us on the right side of UK employment and tax compliance, and be the person who can step into a messy ops problem—whether that's a broken process, a compliance gap, or a tooling decision—and actually sort it out.
Must Haves
- Any depth of People Ops, HR, or Business Operations experience
- Strong written communication — you can write outreach, internal comms, and policy docs that sound human, not corporate.
- A bias toward figuring things out — you're comfortable Googling, asking, or working through something you haven't done before rather than waiting to be shown.
- Comfortable holding sensitive information appropriately — you understand data protection basics and know when something needs careful handling.
- Calm under ambiguity: you're happy working somewhere without a big HR or ops team behind you, and you can prioritise when everything feels urgent.
- A clear point of view on AI tooling — when to use it, when to ignore it, and how to keep it from making your processes worse.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
- Exposure to UK startup equity mechanics
- Basic business operations exposure — vendor management, ops budgeting, or general company-running admin.
We aim to improve all our colleagues' abilities and careers by exposing them to the bare bones of a tech start-up whilst giving them the opportunity to support the company in any way. If our people continuously improve, so does our product.
