Generations People is recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in Chesterfield. We are looking for a proactive Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the continuous reliability and safety of the manufacturing plant. This is a key role where you will support a wide range of plant maintenance.

Responsibilities and duties for the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled inspections and servicing on diverse plant machinery to prevent failures before they occur.
  • Rapid Breakdown Response: Diagnose and repair Electrical faults quickly and effectively to maintain production flow.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using our internal IT systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ideally formally qualified in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent apprenticeship).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, occasionally at short notice, to meet critical production needs.
