Generations People is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing company, an established and stable engineering team based in Chesterfield.
Purpose of Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is to repair and maintain all department equipment via breakdown and preventative maintenance, minimising downtime and costs, and reviewing and improving engineering delivery performance.
Responsibilities for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer role:
- The undertaking of planned preventative maintenance to schedules and machine manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Carrying out repairs as necessary during planned maintenance.
- Maintaining documentation of completed work.
- Liaising with suppliers, both internal and external.
- Adhering and promoting the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Policies and practices.
- Monitoring the engineering Management System for adherence to requirements.
- Improvement of equipment/machine reliability and efficiency.
- Ensuring engineering department goals are achieved.
- Document control and record keeping, ensuring it’s maintained.
- Identifying Root Cause and Corrective Action.
- Ability to contain and evaluate non-conformity.
- Familiar with both the running of and development of Process Control/engineering systems.
- Ensure Company policies and procedures are always complied with.
- Developing and maintaining a robust housekeeping approach.
- Complying with H&S Policy and Procedure, satisfy requirements for legal compliance.
- Liaising with external best practice and legislative bodies/authorities to ensure the above.
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance on an agreed basis.
- Participate as a member of the team, with full involvement in successful delivery of defined best practice and the sites/business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Liaising with external suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial mechanical systems.
- Completion of a relevant apprenticeship and hold an engineering qualification (Equivalent to level 4).
- A degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Strong decision maker who has successfully driven and influenced engineering teams through ambition and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement and implementing lean tools.
- Experience of technical and environmental legislation and processes that ensure compliance.
- Proven operational management experience and change management capability.
