Location: Chesterfield

Salary: £14.11 to £15.90 per hour

Hours: Shifts, Days, Afters & Nights (8-hour shifts)

Contract: 12 weeks temp to perm position

Reporting to: Extrusion Team Leader

Generation People is currently hiring for an Extrusion operator to join a manufacturing company based in the Chesterfield area. Our client is committed to producing the highest quality products and, in accordance with their company policy, they firmly believe that it is the responsibility of all staff to achieve excellence in the provision of both product and service.

Purpose of this role is to set up and run extrusion machines, ancillary equipment, and operate machines in their fabrication department to customer specifications.

Key Duties as the Extrusion Operative:

  • Operate, set up and carry out tool changes in accordance with relevant specifications, use all measuring equipment.
  • Carry out QC checks, report any problems to supervision, complete and quality documents.
  • Act in accordance with their Health and Safety policy.
  • Meet statutory duties and co-operate with the employer on all Health and Safety matters.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in and around the work area.
  • Advise a supervisor/manager of any housekeeping problems.
  • Ensure all processes are run efficiently.
  • Make suggestions to improve operation efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Carry out any other duties, if appropriate training has been given when requested by Supervisor/Manager.

Candidate Skills & Requirements:

  • 2 years of extrusion experience on a setting and operating level.
  • FLT Counterbalance licence – advantageous.
  • To demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • To have strong organisational skills, to be able to manage and plan own workload effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Analytical Thinking.
  • To work as part of a team.
