This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. We are seeking passionate, purpose-driven volunteers to help scale and amplify our One Million Doors and Open Your Doors Day campaigns.

The Roles

  • PR & Media Relations Specialist – Amplify the One Million Doors Movement

    About the Role: Movements don’t just grow — they’re amplified. You’ll help take our campaigns to national headlines, podcasts, and industry platforms, making social mobility impossible to ignore by turning real stories into media moments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Write press releases, media pitches, and thought-leadership copy
    • Build relationships with journalists, editors, and podcast hosts
    • Pitch employer inclusion success stories to national and trade media
    • Support milestone announcements (new partners, doors opened, impact moments)
    • Coordinate interview prep for campaign leaders and ambassadors

    What We’re Looking For: You may be a PR professional, journalist, communications consultant or student with a passion for media and social impact. Strong storytelling ability and media outreach experience is key. We want someone who believes no young person’s career should be determined by birth.

  • Growth & Digital Strategy Volunteer – Scale the One Million Doors Movement

    About the Role: We’re transforming small actions into national momentum. You’ll help scale the £1 Pass the Key challenge using data, testing, optimisation, and digital storytelling.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyse social and email performance data, track what works, scale insights
    • Support micro-campaign ad testing (LinkedIn, Meta, Google)
    • Track conversions (£1 donations → shares → sign-ups) including CTR and UTM performance
    • Improve SEO and landing-page optimisation for onemilliondoors.com
    • Help build automated email supporter journeys via Zoho

    What We’re Looking For: You might be a digital marketer, growth strategist, CRM specialist, or data-curious creative. You enjoy analytics, testing, optimisation, and believe digital platforms can drive meaningful change.

  • Community & Partnerships Marketing Volunteer – Build Momentum for One Million Doors

    About the Role: Movements grow when people feel seen, connected, and empowered. You’ll help nurture our online communities, spotlight partners, and build momentum between campaigns.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage LinkedIn and Mighty Networks communities – respond, connect, celebrate members
    • Create weekly spotlight posts featuring Door Openers, mentors, and partners
    • Collaborate with corporate communications teams on joint impact storytelling
    • Help coordinate outreach through universities and student networks
    • Track engagement and identify super-supporters for ambassador features

    What We’re Looking For: You’re a natural connector who understands community engagement, content impact, and partnership storytelling. You believe change is driven by belonging, representation, and shared purpose.

  • Mentor Champion (Volunteer Mentor Lead) – Help Young People Step In

    About the Role: This is not a job — it’s a door. As a volunteer Mentor Champion, you will guide young people to take their first confident step into the workplace through shared experience and authentic support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Mentor young people across our national programmes
    • Join Open Your Doors Day 2026 and future mentoring events
    • Share your career story to increase confidence and representation
    • Post your Key Tile and invite others to Pass the Key
    • Help grow the mentor community across industries
