Since the first branch of General Traffic opened in 1983, our family business has grown to be one of the largest distributors of Vehicle Parts and Tyres in the North and Midlands. We operate from 43 branches across the North of England and the Potteries. We have two distribution Hubs receiving deliveries direct from the manufacturers continually replenishing our branch stocks.
We stock an extensive range of premium quality car parts for all makes and models – supplied by original equipment manufacturers including Jurid, Duckhams, Purflux, Gates, NGK, Bosch, LUK and Hankook Tyres… We operate a large fleet of delivery vans providing a delivery within the hour to our trade customers.
We are recruiting for a full-time Dispatcher to work from Farnworth branch.
They will be responsible for the picking, organisation and completion of our deliveries around the Farnworth area. It will be their responsibility to ensure every delivery reaches our garage customers within an hour or their order being placed.
This is a fast-paced environment, dealing with hundreds of deliveries every day. Working with the support of our warehouse supervisor to prepare the parts for delivery, integrate parts transferred from other branches and ultimately organise into specific delivery runs for our delivery team.
From time to time, there will be a need to assist with the delivery of parts so a full UK driving licence held from at least two years is an essential requirement. Our insurance requires all drivers to be 25 or older.
The ideal candidate will enjoy a physical role, have excellent communication skills, be extremely organised, have a good general understanding of windows based computer software and have some geographical knowledge of Farnworth and the surrounding area.
Experience leading a team would be a distinct advantage.
This is a permanent, full-time position – 44.75 hours per week with the option of occasional overtime if desired.
