Transport Planner - GTS Transport Location: Ballyclare Contract: Permanent, full-time - Monday to Friday Salary:To be discussed upon interview stage GTS Transport Services have over 30 years experience in the transport industry offering a first class service to a wide range of industries. We specialise in the transport of full and part loads Ireland-GB using our extensive fleet of modern tractor units and trailers. Due to continued growth we are seeking to recruit a Traffic Planner, based at our Ballyclare Office. The Role As Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day planning and coordination of our transport operations. You will be responsible for planning and optimising routes, coordinating drivers and subcontractors, managing customer requirements and ensuring collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and on time. This is a busy and varied role that requires someone who is organised, calm under pressure and able to make decisions quickly. Key Responsibilities: Manage transport operations to achieve maximum utilisation whilst minimising costs and ensuring customer needs are met Plan, schedule and optimise daily routes across the UK and Ireland in line with operational and legal compliance requirements Actively communicate with drivers and colleagues to ensure timely collections and deliveries Monitor customer requests, allocate jobs, and issue instructions Troubleshoot transport-related issues in real-time Co-ordinate subcontractors effectively and efficiently based on business needs Liaise with customers to manage their business needs to ensure smooth running of transport operations Other ad hoc duties Requirements: Previous experience in Transport Planning and General Haulage Working knowledge of the UK & Ireland Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) Can do attitude with the ability to think independently Exceptional attention to detail with excellent administrative abilities Able to work well independently and as part of a team Flexible and adaptable in a high-pressure environment Excellent time management and workload prioritisation Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
