GTS Transport Services have over 30 years experience in the transport industry, delivering a first-class service to a wide range of sectors. We specialise in the transport of full and part loads between Ireland and Great Britain using our extensive fleet of modern tractor units and trailers. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Transport Operations Manager to join our team based in Ballyclare.
The Role
This is a key position within the business, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term performance of the company’s vehicle fleet, while supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the company’s vehicle fleet
- Work closely with senior management on future growth and recruitment
- Manage the in-house workshop
- Schedule regular maintenance (PSV/inspections) to minimise downtime and ensure vehicles are roadworthy and secure
- Ensure the welfare and safety of all personnel
- Report and document road traffic accidents and personal injuries
- Ensure the company meets all Operator Licence requirements
- Carry out other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport management, fleet management, or logistics operations leadership
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, mechanics, and transport regulations
- CPC qualification (desirable)
- Excellent people management skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to improve performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Calm, practical, and organised approach
