The role
We are looking for a Pharmacy Inspector to conduct inspections of premises primarily in North and East London and Slough. The post holder will maintain a programme of high‑quality inspections of registered pharmacy premises, monitoring, supporting, and enforcing compliance with the GPhC’s standards.
- Registered Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician with in‑depth knowledge of the GPhC’s statutory responsibilities and operational standards.
- Experience in the implementation and use of technology in the delivery of pharmacy services, particularly in a community or hospital setting, including hub and spoke dispensing, robotic dispensing, or advanced Patient Medication Record systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams while owning individual responsibilities.

Key responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of registered pharmacy premises to assess compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide recommendations to the Registrar on the registration suitability of new pharmacies.
- Collaborate with the Fitness to Practise team, contributing advice on pharmacy practice to inform investigations into alleged fitness to practise.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings and follow‑up actions.
- Advise on and promote best practice in the use of technology to support safe and effective pharmacy services.
Qualifications and experience
- Registered Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician with substantial recent experience of delivering pharmacy services, preferably in a community or hospital environment.
- Solid understanding of GPhC statutory responsibilities, relevant legislative frameworks, and operational standards.
- Experience or qualification in independent prescribing or advanced clinical services is desirable.
