About the Role

Join us at General Mills and help shape the future of one of the world’s most loved and vibrant brands: Old El Paso. As a Consumer Insights Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in unlocking what consumers think, feel, and crave — transforming those insights into ideas that fuel brand growth, innovation, and category expansion. This is your opportunity to work at the heart of our Brand Development Team (BDT), partnering closely with Marketers, Brand Leaders, Product Developers, and market teams around the world. You’ll help simplify complex information, elevate understanding, and give the business the confidence to make bold, insight-led decisions.

What your role is

In this role, you’ll support the full spectrum of consumer insight needs across the Old El Paso portfolio. Your work will focus on four key areas:

  • Insight Generation for Brand & Product Development: You’ll deliver rich, actionable insights that shape the Old El Paso brand and its innovation pipeline. From brand-building to innovation strategies, you’ll partner with the BDT and analytics teams to integrate market data, primary research, and consumer learning — helping us deeply understand how our brand performs and where it can grow. You’ll lead and execute insight projects that fuel demand-driven strategies and ensure learnings translate into brilliant execution.
  • Identifying Growth Opportunities: Using our demand spaces framework, you’ll explore how consumers cook, eat, and create meal experiences — identifying unmet needs and trends that will define the future of the Mexican category. Your work will help the team spot what’s next and build a pipeline that delights consumers around the world.
  • Elevating Brand Experience: You’ll collaborate with our Brand Experience teams to bring consumer understanding into communication development — ensuring our storytelling, campaigns, and global brand experiences resonate deeply and land meaningfully across markets.
  • Applying Insight Methodologies & Tools: You’ll champion agile learning tools and methodologies to help teams make faster, clearer decisions.

What you bring to the team

You have 5–6 years of Consumer Insights experience, ideally in FMCG, with a strong understanding of the research tools and methodologies that shape powerful brands and breakthrough innovation. You know how to turn data into sharp, inspiring insights that drive action. Comfortable navigating everything from Nielsen and consumer panels to brand tracking and primary research, you’re quick to spot the “so what” and translate it into clear direction for the business. You thrive in fast-moving, collaborative environments, bringing curiosity, agility, and an instinct for pragmatic problem-solving. Confident and concise in how you communicate, you’re at ease presenting insights to cross-functional teams and influencing decisions. Above all, you’re a self-starter with a passion for understanding consumers — someone who can work independently, think boldly, and elevate insight into impact.
