The Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA) Station Management Group is responsible for creating and editing content for the CPSA station bank. As a member, your role is to participate in the functions of the Station Management Group, including developing new CPSA stations, editing existing content, and actively participating in meetings.
You’ll need to be available for at least six days a year to attend group meetings. Most are held virtually, but you will be required to attend at least one in-person meeting at either our Manchester or London office. Throughout the year, you will also be expected to produce and submit at least six high-quality CPSA stations.
Applicants should be practising clinicians above ST2 with an interest in medical education and assessment. An understanding of the roles of a doctor in the Foundation programme is essential. We currently have no vacancies in General Practice. All other applications are welcome, and we are particularly interested to hear from clinicians in the following specialties:
- Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery
- Cardiology
- Dermatology
- ENT
- Paediatrics
- Respiratory Medicine
- Gastroenterology
- Emergency Medicine
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- General Internal Medicine
You will be able to claim £325 per full day for the provision of services and, if eligible, claim appropriate travel, hotel, and subsistence for any in-person events you attend. Please refer to the Information for Applicants document and the Guidance Notes for more details.
To apply, you will need to complete an online application form demonstrating how your experience matches the job-specific questions included in the Information for Applicants document. Candidates successful after shortlisting will be invited to participate in a practical written exercise whereby, on receiving emailed instructions, they will be required to submit a sample outline station online. Sufficient time will be allocated for this task during September 2026. You will also be required to attend a training day, and appointment is conditional on the outcome of both the station writing exercise and performance at the training day. The training day is scheduled for 26th November 2026.
