Founding Head of Power Development — Grid & Data Centre
General Intelligence Infrastructure is building a technology-enabled powerbank for AI infrastructure.
We use geospatial intelligence, grid data, industrial-site information and AI-assisted imagery to identify overlooked routes to large-scale power across European industrial assets.
But finding apparent power is only the beginning.
We need the person who can tell us whether it is real.
We are looking for a senior grid/HV infrastructure professional to join the founding team and own the technical path from:
“This site may have 50MW”
to:
“This is the documented, technically credible capacity, this is what must happen to use it, this is the capex, and this is the realistic energisation date.”
You will:
assess industrial sites for genuine power potential
review connection agreements, single-line diagrams, utility correspondence and historic electrical demand
understand existing and potential import capacity
assess substations, transmission connections and HV infrastructure
engage with DNOs, NESO, utilities and specialist consultants
determine realistic time-to-power
identify technical and grid risks before GII commits capital
help define GII’s site-scoring and Time-to-Compute methodology
work directly with owners, data-centre developers and project-capital partners
help
GII secure and develop its first controlled MW
ultimately build GII’s European power-development capability
Ideal background
You may currently work for:
National Grid / NESO / a DNO
utility development
transmission/distribution infrastructure
a power engineering consultancy
We are particularly interested in experience with:
33kV–400kV systems
132kV+ grid connections
substations
connection applications/offers
data centres or mission-critical infrastructure
industrial electrical systems
UK grid regulation and processes
You do not need to be a software engineer.
You do need to be able to walk onto an unusual industrial site, interrogate the evidence and tell us what is real.
