Role Description
The Business Development Intern — UK Accountancy Acquisitions role is an internship position focused on supporting deal origination and relationship-building in the UK accountancy sector. This is a hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting market and firm-level research on accountancy practices, identifying potential acquisition targets, and assisting with lead generation activities such as outreach campaigns and pipeline tracking. The intern will help prepare summaries, presentations, and internal reports for senior team members, and may support initial contact, follow-ups, and coordination with prospective partners. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in CRM tools, collaborating with investment and operations teams, and contributing insights on sector trends and competitive dynamics.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial and market data and synthesize findings into clear recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce concise emails, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead generation and business development abilities, such as identifying prospective targets, managing outreach lists, and supporting relationship-building activities.
- Market research skills, including desk research, data gathering, and competitive analysis within professional services or related sectors.
- Customer service and stakeholder management capabilities, with a professional, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to interacting with potential partners.
- Interest in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, or professional services, ideally with some exposure through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
- Comfort working in a technology-driven environment; familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, and a willingness to learn AI-enabled workflows.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related field, or possessing equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in the London Area and manage time effectively across in-office and remote tasks.
