We are looking for enthusiastic graduates who want to start a career in tech sales in the energy space starting this summer. General Index (GX) delivers future‑proof commodity prices. Our spot prices and forward curves are calculated algorithmically based on thousands of daily trades collated from 200+ data partners, using transparent and consistent methodologies and a compliant approach. Producing 6000+ daily prices in crude oil, refined products, natural gas and energy transition, we democratise access to benchmarks that represent real market activity. We’re easy to use, with hassle‑free integrations and straight‑forward licensing – providing more choice to the industry. With offices in London, Krakow, Houston and Singapore, GX is now scaling our go‑to‑market team and we are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join us, learning and growing alongside our business.
About the role:
- Learn how to carry out outbound prospecting to key personas on our target account list across energy, financial services and consulting industries.
- Learn how to carry out high‑quality qualification and discovery with outbound and inbound leads, both in online calls, in‑person meetings and industry events.
- Learn how to build relationships with industry professionals, learning how to multi‑thread to ensure we expand across strategic accounts using email, calls and LinkedIn.
- Learn how to use the latest AI tools to move at speed.
- Develop a firm understanding of our data and markets – articulate how our data products solve problems and create opportunities for our customers.
- Use our sales and marketing stack to ensure rigour and efficiency, employing tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Gong to work in a data‑driven and AI‑enabled way.
- Learn how to manage a thriving pipeline, using sales methodology (e.g. MEDPICC) to ensure we align with our ideal customer profiles and company goals.
- Do high‑quality demos of our data using our GX Go interface.
- Work alongside the team on renewals of accounts, ensuring we seek expansion opportunities and keep our customers happy.
- Use data from our customer analytics tool (PostHog) to ensure data‑driven high‑quality conversations with users.
About you:
- Curious. You know that being a great salesperson requires a strong understanding of our data, technology and industry, as well as going above and beyond to know our customers’ and prospects’ challenges inside out.
- Exceptionally proactive. At GX we hire smart people to tell us what to do, not to tell them what to do – which is why we’re running a graduate scheme for sales. If something is not entirely clear, you find a way by asking questions and experimenting.
- Customer‑centric. You care that our customers have a first‑class experience with us and want them to thrive post‑sale (not just during the sales process).
- Ambitious and driven. You want to win and celebrate success with your team – ensuring we take GX to the next level.
- Resilient. You understand that prospecting is tough and are able to handle objections and rejections along the way. Cold calling is a big part of the job, and you understand that it takes practice and persistence to succeed.
- A team player. You enjoy collaborating with different departments in the business.
- Commercially‑savvy. You are comfortable working with numbers, working alongside our sales management to pull together complex proposals.
We offer:
- 1 year graduate scheme, with the opportunity to land a full‑time role in our sales team. This includes regular mentoring with our C‑Suite.
- Competitive base salary and commission program.
- Private healthcare with BUPA.
- Structured development, with a track record of internal promotions.
- Regular off sites and team socials, with a positive and high‑energy culture.
Don’t meet all the requirements? At GX we believe that professional development happens through teaching and learning from your peers and managers. Even if you’re uncertain about whether you have the experience we’re looking for, please apply if this position sparks your curiosity. A diversity of identity, perspective, and experience makes us stronger. We welcome you to apply to GX regardless of your background, age, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or ability.
