GX continues to expand rapidly and is now hiring an Account Executive in our London office to support our next phase of growth. General Index (GX) is the commodity benchmark provider based on the most data. We produce over ~6,000 daily energy prices – in crude oil & refined products, biofuels, hydrogen, and carbon markets – which our clients such as Exxon, Bloomberg, BP, Shell and Two Sigma use to make critical energy & investment decisions. GX’s unique approach collates thousands of trades from 200 data partners and applies expert‑designed algorithms based on detailed methodologies to calculate prices.
About the role:
- You will be outbound prospecting to key personas on our target account list across energy, financial services and consulting industries.
- Carrying out high quality qualification and discovery with outbound and inbound leads, both in online calls and in‑person meetings.
- Building relationships with senior industry professionals, multi‑threading to ensure we expand across strategic accounts using email, calls and LinkedIn.
- Developing a firm understanding of our data and markets – articulate how our technology and products solve problems and create opportunities for our customers.
- Using our sales and marketing stack to ensure rigour and efficiency, employing tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Glyphic to work in a data‑driven and AI‑enabled way.
- Managing a thriving pipeline, using sales methodology (e.g MEDDPICC) to ensure we align with our ideal customer profiles and company goals.
- Driving deals from first introduction through to closure, maximising value to the client and revenue to General Index.

Your experience:
- Previous sales experience closing complex deals of at least $50,000 with clients in many contours and cultures.
- A track record of outbound prospecting.
- Ability to travel to visit prospects and customers in‑person.
- Energy and commodities market experience (for bonus points).
