Role Description The Warehouse Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hayes, responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and ensuring efficient, safe handling of all products. This role includes planning and supervising goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining accurate stock records and inventory levels. The Warehouse Manager will lead and develop warehouse staff, allocate workloads, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and company procedures. The position involves coordinating with logistics, sales, and procurement teams to support timely deliveries, manage space utilization, and resolve operational issues. The Warehouse Manager will also monitor performance metrics, implement process improvements, and support equipment maintenance, including safe use of forklifts and other material handling tools.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Stock Control and Inventory Control skills to maintain accurate records and minimize discrepancies.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Management and Operations Management capabilities to optimize warehouse workflows and product availability.
- Candidates should possess Forklift Operation skills and experience with material handling equipment, with relevant certifications where required.
- Candidates should possess leadership and team management skills, including the ability to train, motivate, and supervise warehouse staff.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of health and safety regulations, food storage and handling standards, and basic compliance requirements.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in warehouse management or a similar role within food distribution or FMCG is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), basic IT skills, and numeracy for reporting and stock analysis are advantageous.
