As a Networks and Bearers Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll be part of a team working on a variety of projects in support of current and future capabilities, focusing on network infrastructure including hardware (ruggedised routers/switches, radios, etc.), software, and user applications.
Duties include developing test plans, test execution, analysing results, and reporting on progress and quality metrics. Test execution activities are conducted primarily in a laboratory, with occasional field trials during major system updates or in support of user experimentation.
Typical Daily Activities Include:
- Formalising requirements, developing test plans
- Leadership of individual work packages
- Integration, test and acceptance of new system components (hardware and software)
- Formal reporting (written and verbal) to internal stakeholders and customers
Qualifications:
- Experience configuring and testing networking equipment and infrastructure using standard RF and networking test tools; experience with Cisco and/or testing in a military domain is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of system testing methodologies.
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, experience with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS, SysML, etc.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience working directly with customers and users.
- Strong communication skills, able to work with multiple teams, both internal and external.
Additional Information:
