Job Description:

  • Coordinates manufacturing delivery commitments to Program Management and Contracts.
  • Analyzes customer demand and validates that all manufacturing deliverables are correct with attainable delivery dates.
  • Monitors Master Production Schedules for potential slippages and problems that could impact product delivery; alerts management of delinquencies and recommends corrective actions.
  • Prepares and distributes weekly schedules and project status summaries to relevant work centers and production management teams.
  • Develops and maintains monthly and quarterly forecasts while identifying critical manufacturing resources and potential bottlenecks through capacity planning analysis.
  • Adheres to and develops evolving Master Production Scheduling policies and company standard procedures.
  • Monitors and controls changes to Order Policies and Lead Time Policies; applies rough-cut capacity planning to expose long-term resource problems.
  • Attends Control Board Reviews to ensure change requests are correctly classified and analyzes impact on MPS commitments with Production management.
  • Prepares project startup schedules and monitors progress of supporting elements including test equipment, processes, and fixtures in coordination with Manufacturing Operations.
  • Coordinates recovery plans and chairs formal meetings to resolve cross-functional problems; maintains minutes and monitors action items.
  • Works directly with finished goods shippers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.
  • Supports BOE (Basis of Estimates) requests for new business bids and attends Project and Production Reviews as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communication at all levels.
  • The ability to make decisions within your scope of authority and take responsibility for these.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • The flexibility to recognise and respond to the changing needs of the role.
  • Knowledge of the Oracle MRP/ERP system.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
  • Basic technical knowledge of the GD product range is ideal but not essential.
