Job Description
This role is for a Senior Hardware System Engineer to join our team working on a variety of development and delivery programmes, customer research and development, and internal research and development projects. Typical daily activities will include:
- Design hardware solutions, specify electronic components and equipment enclosures for installation in Military Vehicles
- Analyse user and system level documentation, produce system designs to satisfy requirements, and provide significant input to readiness and design reviews (SDR and SRR)
- Evaluate and model system performance to support design decisions and trade studies
- Specify interfaces and system components, including analysis of third-party applications for suitability
- Manage the system design through its life-cycle, including design reviews and engagement with development teams
- Collaborate with speciality engineering teams, system integration and test teams, and stakeholders to ensure a complete system solution
- Engage with users and technical advisors/assessors as required
Qualifications
To be successful in the role you will bring your experience and knowledge in the following:
- Broad competence in systems engineering.
- Experience in resolving design challenges
- Understanding of Military Hardware
- Application of Open and Military Standards.
- Understanding of Climatic and Induced Environments
- Experience in engaging specialist engineering disciplines (Safety, Security, ILS) to deliver a complete System solution
- Proven methodical analytical fault finding skills - comfortable working in a technical laboratory while adhering to lab rules e.g. PPE and safe handling.
- Experience with structured design methods.
- Ability to present formally at progress reviews and contribute productively in meetings with all stakeholders
Additional Information
Salary for this position is £45,600 to £60,000 depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package. We offer hybrid working - for this role ideally we are looking for an average of 2 days per week per month on site.
