General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s.

Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers.

These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

The role will report directly to the Avionics Senior Project Accountant providing financial support to the business unit.

The role is an integral part of the Project Finance Team, ensuring financial control is held within the programme and complying with all relevant GDUK and Corporate policies.

The individual will need to be a self-starter with an eye for detail and the ability to work as part of a team.

The role encompasses financial/cost control, quarterly forecasting, variance analysis.

Responsibilities include

  • Financial Analysis and cost control for Air & Naval Projects, including the generation of forecasts, monthly actuals & variance analysis.

Ensure integrity of data and adherence to corporate policies.

  • Bid activity including Costing, Pricing, Evaluating and preparing presentations.
  • Completion of Avionics Programme tasks on a weekly/monthly basis and responding with queries as required.
  • Developing a close working relationship with key programme leads.
  • Project Finance Team Support

Qualifications

  • Finance background
  • Ability to negotiate with internal customers
  • Good Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle systems
  • Willing to start Accountant qualification (AAT/ACMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • Familiarity with applying AI techniques toidentifyopportunities for continuous improvement and innovation

This role has a salary of between £29,700 and £33,000 plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
