General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Systems Principal Architect to join our Engineering Team, based in Merthyr Tydfil.

The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £59,000 to £74,000 based on experience and potential.

This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.

Joining an established team, the successful candidate will work within the System Architecture Team and will be responsible for areas of the system architecture from top level analysis through design, validation and certification.

  • Development of System Architectural Description for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Development of Interface Requirements and Design Documentation
  • Development of Subsystem Specifications, Subsystem Design Descriptionsand ICDs
  • Development of Equipment Specifications and IDDs
  • Verification and Validation of design against requirements
  • Achieving customer acceptance of requirements
  • Preparing Design Certification Evidenceand Certificate of Design
  • Support customer and supplier meetings as required

To apply for this role, you will require the following

  • Degree in Electronics, Systems Engineering, Physics or similar
  • Typically requires degree level education and an advanced level of related experience, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Sys MLand/or UML for System Analysis and Design
  • Working knowledge of System Analysis and Design processes and lifecycles
  • Understanding of complex electronic systems
  • Ability to manage own time and tasks and to report progress
  • Ability to manage a small team, allocate tasks and report progress
  • Rhapsodyand CAMEOSys MLToolset
  • DOORS Toolset
  • Working knowledge of UKDefence Standards.
  • Understanding of UK Security Accreditation
  • Understanding of System Safety Assurance
  • Chartered Engineer
