With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain VMware virtualization platforms, NetApp storage systems, and Microsoft Configuration Manager (CM) environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Provide advanced administration and support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server operating systems, as well as Windows 11 workstations.
- Implement security best practices, including applying Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and maintaining compliance with cybersecurity policies.
- Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring for all supported platforms.
- Conduct system audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing findings to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to support integrated information technology (IT) operations and resolve complex technical issues.
- Utilize automation tools and vendor best practices to streamline management and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system administration to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze system logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization to support organizational growth.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Coordinate with vendors and external support for escalation and resolution of advanced technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and support staff.
- Assist with incident response activities and the resolution of security incidents or outages.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and assist with audits as required.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve system security, reliability, or efficiency.
- Be available for after-hours maintenance and on-call support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience required.
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- In support of the requirement, the employee must have and maintain the CompTIA Security+ CE Certification. The CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is the preferred certification.
- Must have ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
- Experience with VMware View Technology.
- Experience with NetApp Technology.
- Strong Experience with Microsoft CM and patch management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or higher.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP (NCDA).
