Position Description

General Atlantic is looking to hire a Summer Intern to join the Sustainability team in our London office. This role will report to the Global Head of Sustainability to support the Sustainability team and our family of portfolio companies, across investment strategies including GA’s Growth Equity, Energy Transition, and Private Credit. The internship is anticipated to start in the first or second week of June 2026, with a flexible duration. Please note that this is an internship position and does not roll over into a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Level Data Management: Help collect and manage sustainability-related data from portfolio companies, including ESG and climate data. Help develop sustainability data infrastructure to enable faster, more comprehensive analysis across the portfolio. Assist in the preparation of sustainability scorecards, disclosures, and reporting materials, including refining methodologies for tracking sustainability risk and performance across the portfolio.
  • Portfolio Engagement: Support the Sustainability team in our efforts to support portfolio companies in creating value through sustainability (e.g. top line growth, cost reduction and liquidity and exit readiness).
  • Communications & Investor Relations: Assist with answering investor inquiries and coordinate with the firm’s Capital Solutions group. Maintain and create materials including case studies, investor communications, internal communications, fundraising presentations, and investor reporting. Contribute to public-facing reporting efforts, including sustainability reports, white papers, and thought leadership pieces.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a University or Master’s degree program at an accredited institution with a strong academic track record.
  • Prior experience at a climate investment firm, consulting firm or global corporate preferred.
  • Knowledge of current sustainability and climate reporting regulations, methodologies and trends.
  • Highly analytical coupled with strong intuition; able to think and react quickly.
  • Strong project management skills – time management, pattern recognition, prioritization and strong judgement are critical; ability to work well under pressure without compromising quality.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional follow through and results driven.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a high performing global organization.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of working effectively cross functionally.
  • Demonstrated maturity and professional presence; comfortable interacting with senior executives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated, inquisitive, and positive attitude.
