As a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Assistant, you will support the efficient movement, storage and delivery of products to customers and sites. This role is suited to a practical and dependable individual with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities - delivery driver and warehouse assistant

Load, secure and deliver products safely and efficiently to customers, sites and other locations.

Complete delivery and collection duties in line with planned routes and schedules.

Carry out vehicle checks before and after deliveries, reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.

Drive company vehicles responsibly and in accordance with UK road traffic laws and company procedures.

Assist with loading and unloading goods, using appropriate manual handling techniques.

Check delivery paperwork, goods and quantities before dispatch and on receipt.

Obtain delivery signatures and complete all relevant paperwork accurately.

Provide a professional and helpful service to customers during deliveries and collections.

Receive, check, label and store incoming stock and materials in the warehouse.

Pick and prepare orders accurately for delivery or collection.

Maintain accurate stock records and report shortages, damaged goods or discrepancies to the supervisor.

Keep the warehouse, loading areas and vehicles clean, safe and organised.

Assist with general warehouse duties and other operational tasks as required.

Follow health and safety policies, manual handling guidance and company procedures at all times.

Essential skills and experience - delivery driver and warehouse operations

Previous experience in a delivery driver, warehouse, logistics, distribution or goods-in role is desirable.

Full UK driving licence with a safe and responsible driving record.

Good knowledge of UK roads and the ability to follow delivery routes and schedules.

Experience handling, loading and unloading goods safely.

Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to complete delivery notes, stock records and other paperwork accurately.

Physically fit and able to lift and move goods in line with manual handling guidance.

Reliable, punctual and flexible in a busy working environment.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider warehouse and operations team.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
