Gencell Technical Services is looking for a MEP CX Manager to support with a major new-build data centre programme in London. We are seeking an experienced MEP CX Manager with a strong mechanical and electrical background to join the site delivery team on a rotational basis.
The MEP Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Mechanical and Electrical commissioning scope of works on-site, managing subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and coordinating delivery to meet programme and budget targets. This is a contractor-side role requiring someone hands-on, proactive, and able to drive both disciplines while leading with an electrical bias.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full MEP commissioning package from level 1-5.
- Take lead on the cx packages while coordinating mechanical services delivery.
- Interface with the construction, QA/QC, HSE, and planning teams to ensure smooth project progression.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to contract terms, programme, quality, and safety.
- Review and track commissioning progress, issue reports, and escalate risks or issues early.
- Attend daily/weekly site meetings and act as the main MEP point of contact for internal and client teams.
- Ensure compliance with local standards, European regulations, and client specifications.
- Review technical submissions, method statements, and commissioning plans.
- Drive commissioning, testing, and handover of MEP systems.
Requirements:
- Degree or trade background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mechanical preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing MEP CX packages on mission-critical or large commercial projects.
- Previous data centre or similar high-tech project experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of European codes and practices, particularly in electrical installation and commissioning.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and interface with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
