Gencell Technical Services are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of automation systems on a state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical facility based in the North of the UK. The role is fully onsite. This role is focused on automation engineering, system integration, and design delivery, rather than commissioning activities. You will play a key role in ensuring automation systems are robust, compliant, and aligned with GMP requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities Duties in respect to DeltaV, BMS, and automation systems include but are not limited to:
- Support the design and development of automation architecture for process and utility systems
- Develop and review functional specifications (FDS), design specifications (DDS), and control philosophies
- Configure and develop DeltaV control systems, including modules, phases, and batch logic
- Support integration of BMS and process control systems into the wider automation environment
- Work closely with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Review and approve vendor automation documentation and software deliverables
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments relating to automation systems
- Ensure automation systems are designed in line with GMP and data integrity requirements (e.g. ALCOA+)
