Gencell Technical Services are seeking an experienced Authorised Person (AP) to support a live data centre project located West of Frankfurt, Germany. This is a long-term contract role, initially for 12 months depending on project requirements. For this reason, you must have the right to work in Germany (working visa or EU citizen).
The AP will be responsible for ensuring the safe control, isolation, and authorisation of electrical systems in line with project safety procedures and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Authorised Person for electrical systems on a live data centre site.
- Control and authorise LV switching, isolations, and permits to work.
- Ensure compliance with project safety rules, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and site management to ensure safe execution of works.
- Maintain accurate permit, switching, and logbook documentation.
- Support commissioning, energisation, and testing activities as required.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture on site.
- Proven experience working as an Authorised Person (AP) on data centre or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in electrical systems within live or high-risk environments.
- Familiarity with permit to work systems and electrical safety rules.
- Ability to work independently and make safety-critical decisions.
- Right to work in the EU or ability to travel/work in Germany.
- Previous experience on hyperscale or colocation data centre projects.
- Experience supporting commissioning or energisation phases.
